You can access the town by foot at any time and enjoy a walk around the ruins of once a vibrantly-rich town. Although many are in ruins, some buildings are in use by locals as homes, some have been turned into backpackers’ or tiny restaurants. From there you can visit the port and see first hand the town’s fishing industry. You can get your own fish here for the bbq.
If you are in for an adventure. You can take a boat to visit depleted oil platforms and see the many sea lions that now live there. You can visit the town of Cabo Blanco, where Hemingway used to fish, also the towns of Organos and Mancora further north.
